About this place
The appeal of the lunch set is being able to choose a main and enjoy a spread that also includes an appetiser, salad, soup, spring roll and dim sum. Diners have described the pleasure of working their way through contrasting sweet, savoury and fried dishes, from the appetisers to the dim sum. Others have enjoyed taking their time over rice served in an ohitsu (a wooden rice container) and tea from a large teapot. One diner mentioned shrimp dumplings served in a mini steamer as the set’s dim sum. It is a good option when you want lunch to unfold over several small dishes, as well as a main of your choice.
For a more substantial main, choices include shrimp simmered in chilli sauce, sweet-and-sour pork, and diced chicken stir-fried with cashews. Familiar Chinese-style dishes include gomoku fried rice, gomoku yakisoba and gomoku rice with thickened mixed ingredients (chūkadon); these are also listed as set options. Seasonal menu items include soup noodles with shrimp and tomato, made with a savoury shrimp soup and softly beaten egg, as well as a warm appetiser of steamed pork belly with cucumber, a special sauce and house-made chilli oil.
Courses follow a sequence from appetisers and a main dish to almond tofu and coffee. A mini-course is available for parties of 2 or more, and private rooms offer another option for meals together, whether at lunchtime or over dinner.
